1. Strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the European Union and Kazakhstan

   Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid an official visit to Brussels on 23 June 2026 and met with António Costa, President of the European Council and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. At the end of the meeting the leaders issued a joint press statement.

3. Remarks by President António Costa at the press conference following the EU–Moldova summit

   President of the European Council António Costa presented the outcome of the 2nd EU-Moldova summit held in Brussels on 22 June 2026.

4. Combatting child sexual abuse: EU agrees stronger criminal law rules and enhanced support to victims

   The Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional deal on updating the EU’s criminal law rules on child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children.

5. Joint declaration following the second EU-Moldova summit

   On 22 June 2026, the European Union and Moldova held their second summit in Brussels. During the summit, leaders issued a joint declaration reflecting the depth of EU-Moldova partnership and the concrete benefits it brings to citizens.
